James J. Dougherty

Of Lansing

Age 60, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, February 18, 2013. Jim was born Sept. 29, 1952 in Lansing, the son of the late James & Mildred (Wiseman) Dougherty. Jim had been an active member of Holy Cross, their Bingo Chairman for several years, and sang in the choir. Jim also helped to form the League of Michigan Bicyclists. Jim was employed as a Systems Analyst with the State of Michigan-Dept of Human Services. He loved movies, traveling, and music. Surviving is his wife Mary, of 40 years, 3 children: Patrick, Erin (Shane) Kash, and Kate, a grandson, Emmett Kash, 2 sisters: Nancy Dougherty and Judy (Brian) Wallace, a brother, Michael Dougherty, 2 sisters in law, Ruth Grant & Laura (Brian) Redmond, a niece, Rebecca Grant, and 2 nephews: Case & Adrian Redmond. A Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated Saturday at 12:00PM at Church of the Resurrection with Rev. Fr. Steven Mattson as celebrant. The family will receive friends beginning at 11:00AM. Memorials can be made to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society in memory of Jim. Condolences can be made at www.palmerbush.com.
