Carl Elmer Moore Durham, North Carolina Formerly of Lansing, Michigan
Carl was born on July 16, 1928 and passed away in his sleep on August 1, 2013 at the age of 85. Carl was an army veteren having served in Trieste, Italy during the Korean War era in 1952-1953. Carl was previously employed by Farmer Peet Packing Company until he bagan working as a truck driver for Renner Express where he retired from in 1985. Carl enjoyed working outdoors and in his garage at their cottage at Lake Mecosta. Carl could often be found sitting in his lawn chair talking to his neigbor in the summer or shoveling snow together with him in the winter. Carl was always willing to help anyone in need with a tool or lending a hand. Carl and Orrene lived in their home on Holmes Road until they moved to Edgewood Retirement Center and then to North Carolina to live with their daughter in 2012. They also enjoyed many years at the cottage on Lake Mecosta. Carl is preceeded in death by his wife, Orrene, his parents, George and Minnie Moore, his brother, Howard, and his sister, Pat. He is survived by his daughter, Susan (Ken) Bergquist and his granddaughter, Jennifer Bergquist. Also surviving Carl are his brothers and sisters, George Moore, Lois Rood, Treesa Cotton, Robert Moore, and Dale Moore. He is also survived by many in-laws, nieces and nephews. A joint memorial service for Carl and Orrene will be held on Tuesday, August 6, 2013 at 1:30pm at the Palmer-Bush-Jensen Holt-Delhi Chapel.
